My comments on tutoring Political Science : Many years of experience incorporating it into US History.

Prefer to meet one-on-one or small group instruction in a neutral location, such as a library or eatery. I am very flexible to adapt to change to the needs of the student.
I have retred after 33 years of teaching. 32 years of primarily teaching history or social studies subjects. I also have 15 years of teaching in schools for the deaf, there is some overlap of deaf education and social studies education. I am National Board Certified as a teacher. I served as a tutor and teacher of adult education in Loganville, GA for 1 year. I am currently on the substitute teacher roster for the Vicksburg School District, and I have been so for two years.
I first introduce myself and get to know a little about the student I am tutoring. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe most students can succeed if they are taught good studying skills. I teach study skills, organizational skills, and note taking skills. I do not only teach names, dates, and places but I also teach them to learn to be able to retell the narrative which helps them to remember the names, dates and places.

Given the awesome responsibility of teaching Sunday School at my church, I believe wholeheartedly that providing understanding and setting the right examples is paramount to success for our children.
