Honors Graduate from CSU Stanislaus and Excellent Teacher!

I am a hard worker and expect a similar attitude from the students I tutor. I tend to work out the problem for the student on one problem and then I watch as they go through a similar one to ensure they have understood. This repetative practice has proven efficient. I also tend to make the student practice more than the required assignments needed to be accomplished to ensure a firm grasp of the material.
I am an Honors Graduate from California State University Stanislaus and I am knowledgeable on many subjects. What I like about helping people learn more and do better in communicating and expressing themselves is that it gives me a chance to "give back" all that I know in a special way. I teach people how to do things through a method of "learning by doing" with practical (and many times personal experience) exercises. A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned two BS degrees in Business and Public Health and a certificate in mass communication and journalism from Fresno State. I am also I currently work for California Teaching Fellows as a substitute tutor. This company employs after school tutors in Fresno County. I help students from grades K-12 with homework and engage them in enrichment activities.

I strive to include various learning styles when working with children. Some students learn best by listening or writing, while others need movement or tactile experiences to help in comprehension. I believe in keeping students engaged at all times, to minimize wasted time. Every child has potential. A teacher just has to know how to reach each child, and that happens when the students builds trust with the teacher.
I have taught music in public education for the last 15 years. I have been involved in church music ministry for over 25 years, and currently am the church pianist in Stockton, Ca.
