Honors Graduate from CSU Stanislaus and Excellent Teacher!

I am an Honors Graduate from California State University Stanislaus and I am knowledgeable on many subjects. I have had former experience in tutoring and I am more than willing to work with students of any age. I am proficient in English, Social Science, Study Skills, and many other areas. As an avid reader and excellent writer I am able to work with students on their writing skills at any level.
I am a hard worker and expect a similar attitude from the students I tutor. I tend to work out the problem for the student on one problem and then I watch as they go through a similar one to ensure they have understood. This repetative practice has proven efficient. I also tend to make the student practice more than the required assignments needed to be accomplished to ensure a firm grasp of the material.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned two BS degrees in Business and Public Health and a certificate in mass communication and journalism from Fresno State. I have taught music in public education for the last 15 years. I have been involved in church music ministry for over 25 years, and currently am the church pianist in Stockton, Ca. I love working with children of all ages. Math is my second love and I almost majored in math instead of music. Math was always easy for me in school. Although I don't enjoy writing, I am very strong in written English and enjoy proofreading papers.
I strive to include various learning styles when working with children. Some students learn best by listening or writing, while others need movement or tactile experiences to help in comprehension. I believe in keeping students engaged at all times, to minimize wasted time. Every child has potential. A teacher just has to know how to reach each child, and that happens when the students builds trust with the teacher.
