I have a BA in English and Creative Writing. I received a MA in English Literature in 2005. I began my teaching career at Calhoun teaching English Composition 101 and 102. My comments on tutoring Literature : I have taught American Lit, European Lit, World Lit, and Modern Lit in the classroom.

I prefer the Socratic method of asking/answering questions and discussion, but I am more than capable of diverting to a more lecture style of teaching if that is what works with the student. I tailor my teaching style to the strengths of the student.

I'm currently working for Huntsville City Schools Extended Day Program. I've been working there for 3 years. In those 3 years, I also worked in the work study program, working at the Richard Showers Center's after school program. While, at the Showers Center, I was placed with an ADHD and Dyslexic student. My duties included, helping him find different ways to learn the material and I went through a series of repetitional exercises. I continued to tutor him for 1 year.
