My comments on tutoring Typing Skills : Last I checked, my typing speed was 65 wpm. Simple games and constant practice/interaction in a world of digital communication are what it takes to get the words out of your head and into a keyboard. Almost all my tutoring help requires that the student be able to write on a keyboard, and I am always glad to help improve typing skills.

I try to approach client's problems on a case by case nature: they have a particularly hard to write paper or a class that just isn't working for them, and I will try to work closely with them to find solutions. I will not write a client's paper or perform any creative work for them, but I will edit or provide guidance as needed. While there are no shortcuts to an A, I will share what has worked for me and others in the real world.
I'm a recent college graduate from NC State, with a degree in Creative Writing. Once I have an understanding of what a student is capable of I like to push them to go past their "comfort zone" in learning. It helps them understand that what may look difficult, may not always be so and that they only way to find out is to learn it. Also, I do not teach study habits. Instead I like to see what a students current habits are and work on expanding those habits so that the child does not get frustrated and overwhelmed. It is easier to learn more from current knowledge than try to teach a whole new way.
