I am easy going, energetic, very passionate (especially when teaching calculus and physics), and engaging. In most cases it takes only a few sessions and students are having fun. I believe that most students can understand mathematics with a proper explanation. For example, the order of operations is usually presented to students without explanation for its existence. This gives the false sense that it is an arbitrary rule. I enjoy sharing my understanding to students, but I also enjoy providing a role model for my students. I have found that the best way to teach math is through analogy and real world examples. I prefer to teach general as opposed to specific methods, as these are more widely applicable. However general methods appear to be best taught through specific examples and with a great deal of patience.
