Special Education is one of my top subjects! This is my fourth year teaching as a Special Education teacher. I teach grades K-5. I have worked with students who have various and multiple disabilities. I am currently teaching a case load of 33 students. I recently graduated UNL with a Master's degree in Special Education Mild/Moderate Disabilities.

I use various teaching styles within my classroom. I try to find how my student learns best and accommodate to their needs. All students learn differently, so I try to be flexible in my teaching style. I do like to make teaching as visual and hands on as I can.
I have been a teacher with CPS for four years. I am currently a Special Education teacher for grades K-5. I teach a caseload of 33 students ranging in abilities. I have a significant amount of experience teaching reading, math, and writing to struggling learners. In addition to working with students that have disabilities, I also have a degree in Elementary Education. I teach regular education students within my intervention groups throughout my school day. I completed my undergraduate degree at Hastings College and receiving a double major in both Elementary Education and Special Education. I have more than 850+ hours within the school systems, 425+ of these that are related to Special Education. I graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan, a private school, with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I've worked in several Child Development Centers and as a nanny with all different ages. I enjoy reading and writing and have experience with editing and grammatical skills as they relate to writing. I have experience teaching six traits writing as well as a Reading Mastery program in my one year teaching 2nd grade at Sutton Public Schools.
