Teaching younger aged children is something that I have wanted to do my whole life. Now that I have taught for the past five years there is nothing more that I want to do. I feel any child can learn. They just each have a different way of going about the learning process. When I teach I try to find how my students learn and use that to my advantage. A Little Bit About Me...

I had a son with some special needs. I had to help him with his math throughout most of his junior high and high school years. Throughout college I had extensive experience working with classmates while we solved math equations and physics problems together. I did volunteer work teaching English to children in Mexico as well as teaching English to college age students in Mexico.
I like to first get an idea of what the student knows about the problem.. I find that the more time I spend listening to what they know it naturally turns into what pieces I need to add-in. Unless they came to the session to learn new material that would be a different scenario entirely in which it would depend on the student how I taught. I would have to find out what type of a learner they are. Whether it be a visual learner, if they need examples or are an entirely conceptual type of learner.
