I enjoy working with children. I know all children can learn in one way. I was team leader in AmeriCorps. As I held the leadership position in AmeriCorps, I know I have the patience to help each and every child to succeed. As an assistant teacher, I earned my AA in Elementary Education/ Early Childhood. I continued my education on and received my BA in Social Science in 2009 from Ashford University. I have learned how to teach a student through my experience in working with students.

I love to work with children who are eager to learn. I know that for most children having to study is not their top priority, so I try to make it fun. I am patient, and know that learning often takes repetition. I believe that most children have the power to learn, some just need some one on one attention. I'm an assertive motivator. Learning should not be repulsive, children love to learn by examples that they can relate to. I find the opportunity to combine the likes and dislikes of the student and mold them into a constructive solution. Using metaphors and similes are more of my specialties. The style is strict, but the concepts are easier. When the task is completed, the student will say I was tough but with a caring aftereffect. I'm a recent graduate of Rust College. During my years at college I tutored in subjects as biology, basic math, college algebra,English literature, and also was a co-judge for a local junior high science fair. During the summer of 2009, I did my internship with the Ronald E. McNair program at the University of Mississippi. This program focused mainly on research based studies with a chosen graduate professor.

Determining the learning styles of individual students is important to me. I adjust and accomodate my approach based on how students respond and learn.
