A Little Bit About Me...

I was a teaching assistant at North Georgia College and State University for three years. I assisted with laboratory sections of biology courses and taught them in the event of a professors absence. I provided department funded tutoring services during that time as well. I have taken the GRE and Biology Section of the GRE and received excellent scores on both tests in only one sitting. I have also coached 4H horse quiz bowl and horse judging teams for several years working with elementary and middle school age children.

I hold a BS in Nuclear Engineering from Georgia Tech. I have two and a half years of experience, most of which is at the collegiate level. I am proficient at Introductory Calculus, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. I have a real understanding of these subjects; I have studied and applied them in senior level collegiate courses. While I prepare, I would not list them if I could not show up cold and teach them. In college I volunteered my time tutoring freshmen students in these subjects. I also oversaw the academic goals of two of the clubs that I was involved with. While I primarily work with AP and college level students, I do work well with children and have experience tutoring basic math and science to third and fourth graders.

A Little Bit About Me...

As primarily a middle grades teacher, I have 33 years of classroom experience and 25 years of private tutoring. My basic focus has been 6th grade math and the education of ESOL students. I hold 2 degrees in elementary eduction and an ED. Specialist in Administration/Supervision. The classroom has always been preferred, even though I hold a degree in Adminstration. I am a graduate of Bryan College with a degree in Music Education, having taken many education classes and completed a semester of student teaching at the elementary and high school level in Rhea County schools. My prior experience in teaching comes from over 5 years of teaching piano lessons to beginning through advanced students from age 4-adult. While at Bryan, I was a tutor for music theory students as well as assisted and edited English and literature papers and essays.
I have a great love of teaching and guiding young people in their academic studies. My approach to teaching or tutoring is open and involves as much personal encouragement as I can.
