A Little Bit About Me...

High school senior at east Hamilton High with 3.8 GPA. Ap world history, Ap US history, Ap studio art, Honors Classes including English, Algebra 1 and 2, geometry, biology, have all been taken and passed with an A. I went to TN governors school for the arts for visual art. I have taught first graders and have tutored elementary students from 3rd-5th in my neighborhood.
Math- teaching a child how/why/where the steps to solving a problem came from originally and taking past knowledge together. Building a students confidence then showing the student simpler/easier way of solving. Other- answering all the questions a student has and making sure the understand why it's important/its impact

I provided department funded tutoring services during that time as well. I have taken the GRE and Biology Section of the GRE and received excellent scores on both tests in only one sitting. My comments on tutoring Life Science : I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced and Intermediate math and language arts in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

I have taught 5th Grade Math and Science, 3rd Grade, 2nd Grade as an Interventionist, Kindergarten, and most recently Advanced Math and Language Arts / ESOL/CIVICS in and Adult GED/HiSet program. I have the ability to motivate and light the fire of interest in my students by incorporating in my teaching full emersion projects. Using an approach that fully immerses my students in the subject they are learning gives them the opportunity to learn firsthand instead of being merely a receiver of information. As part of my education program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I was required to complete a full, yearlong internship. I interned from August-October in a 2nd grade classroom and from October-May in a 3rd grade classroom, Monday-Friday. I went from "student teacher" to co-teacher and my mentor and I would divide the day equally on who taught what. Also, as a part of my internship, I completed and presented an Action Research project which focused on writing in 3rd grade.
