For over four years, I have been involved in private tutoring as well as teaching classes available to the public. I have a passion for teaching and enjoy helping others succeed. While completing my Bachelors in Business Administration, I developed a firm understanding and passion for economics, finance, and accounting. My work experience, in banking and in organizational management, has provided me with opportunity to apply this knowledge in real life situations. I enjoy teaching and working with children and adults. My first experience in education was with children's music classes, and have since enjoyed the opportunity to teach adults at the community college level. I would describe my style as adaptive. As a Fayetteville State University undergraduate, I did a lot of volunteer work with high school student. I also worked in the school's computer lab assisting students with classwork and homework. I have tutored students for the SATs. My specific field is English but I can also tutor in Spanish. I have an extensive amount of knowledge in grammar and composition as well as anything in the literature field. My passion since I was 5 years old has always been teaching. I used to play teacher with my sisters and give themm stickers for job well done. I feel students will respect you and appreciate you if you relate to them. Not necessarily reduce yourself to their level but treat them like young adults. There have been many teachers throughout my career as a student that have greatly motivated me to succeed and I genuinely want to do the same for others.

As a Spanish/English graduate from UNCW I began teching Spanish at the Friends school Of Wilmington. I taught there for two years. In addition to Spanish I was a service learning coordinator, tutor, and yoga instructor.I then taught ESL in Columbus County for one year. In Columbus County I served as a translator and testing agent as well. I have tutored in Spanish, English, and math I love teaching holistically. I belive strongly in differentiation, not everyone learns the same way. I belive in teaching children out themselves so that they can bulid better study habbits in all areas that they study. I also belive in guided discovery and hands on learning. linking personal meaning and experience with a subject matter helps to solidify retention and create a "learning lightbulb.."

I am very open and ask for a lot of participation on behalf of the student. I feel that if they get involved and ask lots of questions that they will learn better. I love helping children and try and find creative ways to help them learn and remember their work at hand. I have completed both an MBA and bachelors degree in business and during that education I studied a wide array subjects. Marketing, Finance, accounting, HR, and economics. The cumulation of all this experience has taught me well and now I would love the opportunity to pass on this knowledge to others and help them get through challenging times.
