A Little Bit About Me...

I would describe my teaching style as friendly. I try not to give off so much of teacher-student type atmosphere, because many children get discouraged and are not as comfortable and not as willing to learn.
I am currently a high school junior. That being said, I do not have a degree. However, I am in the top 20% of my high school class, I take only honors classes, and actually learn the material so I can tutor a student who needs help. I graduated with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University. With that, I had to complete many practical hours in the classroom as well as complete volunteer leadership hours outside of the university classroom. I had completed student teaching. After student teaching, I held a teacher assistant position as well as substitute taught in classrooms. Because I was licensed and a good teacher, I was called numerous times to be a sub. I love learning math and science and I enjoy sharing the same love of learning with my students. I like seeing the look on their face when they really get it! Students requiring tutoring are sometimes in academic distress and have anxiety therefore I have a more easy going and patient style of tutoring than most. I believe I'm an effective tutor because I remember the exact same difficulties and questions I had as a student and can relate to their frustration.
