My passion in life is working with children! I love teaching and having the opportunity to share knowledge with children. My experience teaching and tutoring has taught me a great deal about how to reach different students. All children are capable of learning; however, the manner in which children learn can differ. I worked as an in home private ABA therapist for two separate families, each with a child with autism. I worked individually with both children approximately 8-12 hours per week for over a year. I taught in a traditional ABA classroom with six students on the autism spectrum and all with other severe disabilities. I have also volunteered for many years as a bible school teacher.
I would have to say that my teaching style is flexibility. I believe that it is necessary to gauge your students as a group and individually before deciding on which teaching methods would be most effective. I believe that naturalistic teaching is important.
