Elementary Math is one of my top subjects! Math was my favorite subject in school and I am confident in my Math skills and ability to teach it.

My classroom experience with Special Education started while in college at Illinois State University, where I gained very valuable experience teaching in a variety of classrooms. For one semester, I taught in a junior high life-skills classroom where we practiced daily living skills and went out into the community so the students could practice skills such as locating items in a store, paying with money, and crossing the street. Then I spent my Fieldbase semester at two different schools. The first one was 4th and 5th grade students with learning disabilities. A Little Bit About Me...

Because all students learn differently, it is important for me as a teacher to get to know each student to find out what fits their needs the best. I like to offer a variety of activities that appeal to the hands-on learns, as well as kids that need visual cues. I am a patient, encouraging and energetic teacher. Since graduating from Northern Illinois University, I have had several experiences teaching children at the elementary and middle school age. I was a nanny for a family of three for a year right after graduating. It was a wonderful experience and gave me the opportunity to create my own lessons and activities for the children. The following year I was a substitute teacher in Wisconsin for various grade levels and loved each experience. I graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia. I received dual Bachelors' of Science in Computer and Electrical Engineering. These have a advanced my understanding of physics, mathematics, and other sciences. In addition to lecture, I have completed several laboratory classes and attended seminars that bring formulas and concepts into a real world purpose.
