While I was an undergraduate at Marshall University, I was asked by my thesis professor to help out in the tutoring center provided by the college of math. While I was there I helped students with their math courses ranging from college algebra to upper levels of calculus and differential equations. Being a learning disabled student myself, I have learned that not all students retain information the same. I feel this gives me an upper hand on techniques to get students to learn.
As of right now I do not have my teaching certicifate, however, I do plan on going back to school to get my certificate. When I was tutoring I had to multi-task between students. At first, the task was difficult but I eventually got used to it.

I have worked with children since I was 13. I have worked in settings where I was a daycare worker, a nanny, and a substitute teacher. I believe that every child has thier own unique way of learning even though there may be a mainstream way of teaching. I can say I have a vast amount of training and expereience in science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, as well as the liberal arts. I score as an ITSP on the Myers-Briggs evaluation which means I am not only concrete in speech and utilitarian in getting things done, I am also directive and attentive in teaching settings. I have done a small amount of teaching at the junior college level and am comfortable giving oral presentations to groups of people.
