I have a passion for learning, teaching and helping others. I have earned a BS in mathematics as well as a MAE. I have over ten years of experience tutoring third grade through twelfth grade students and I am in my third year of teaching in public high schools.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a student in a Multiple Subject teaching credential program, I have developed my passion for teaching into the skills necessary for encouraging student success. As a part of my program, I spent 300 hours in a K/1st grade combination class. In the classroom, I had many responsibilities including: assisting the students with their work; teaching language arts, social science, science and math lessons; and working with small groups of students to improve reading skills. This year I also worked in an after-school program where I lead the kindergarten class where my duties included teaching conventional lessons in math, science, language arts, and science as well as incorporating song, games, and hands-on activities into lessons.

I have successfully acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Painting from Central Washington University. Last May in Seattle, I submitted and displayed my work at an art show. I am presently working on my next collection to show in the near future. Since beginning my life in Fine Arts, I have been Sharing my knowledge and learning from my friends and family, like the Impressionists who talked over coffee in Montmartre. As an Americorp participant during my early college years I learned of the many joys that teaching can give. I have a BS in general studies and very close to a BS in psychology, criminal justice, and English. I have taught at a college for 3 years, substituted for various school districts for 2, and I am currently finishing a full-time jr. High teaching position at Immanuel Christian School.
I love one on one or small class sizes. Each child is so different in their own way and each have such a different learning style that I like to take it slow and be personal with each student. In my years of experience I have learned how to make learning fun. I love to include humor and everyday examples when I teach. Children are amazing and after all our future.
