My teaching style focuses on modeled and guided discussions so that students can talk through their understanding so I can remediate and reteach to ensure that they are learning and they find confidence in their learning.
During my undergraduate, I had multiple field studies in middle and high school classes. I also had to tutor elementary students through my college for certain reading classes. My approach to tutoring is that all students are capable of learning. Kids often benefit from a fresh perspective and it is my job to make them more confident again. I try to explain to the students that once the rules are understood it becomes simple to get to the final result. To start my tutoring processing, I try to identify what is needed to improve the defiance of the student. Then I try to see what method works best for the student.
