My teaching style is gentle but firm. I believe anyone can learn, given the proper structure and encouragement. Confidence is critical in learning, and that is what I always try to instill, through gentle but firm instruction and the ongoing development of a student's feelings of personal responsibility for learning.
I have a BA in Political Science/English (1965), and have always loved reading good books and studying history and government. I also have an MBA (1975), and my working career of 40 years has included 25 years in developing Accounting Systems (multiple firms), Telephone Network Systems (Consultant and Senior Systems Engineer at AT&T for 15 years), and Accounting Operations (most recently Controller for a service firm with annual revenues of $15 Million.
