I believe all children can learn and that it is the responsibility of the teacher to reach the student. I develop relationships with my students and make learning real for them. I teach using real world scenarios to make learning meaningful. I use hands on lessons when appropriate and teach using mneumonic devices for learning.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999 from University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education and Communications. I am also National Board Certified in area of Middle Childhood Generalist. I am certified 6-9 and 9-12 English. I have taught 4th grade for 2 years, 5th grade for 5 years, 6th grade for 1 year, 7th and 8th grades for 3 years, 9 and 10th grades for 1 year and 11 and 12th grades for 2 years.

25 years of experience in a private Christian school, teaching ages 4 - 12 yrs. - have taught all subjects - especially enjoy English and writing 2 years of tutoring an autistic child in a school setting and also in a home setting Children's ministry at church for 30 years tutoring an adult in Spanish ( I have 3 years of learning Spanish through a computer course. I have learned enough of the language that I can teach it to a 1st year Spanish student.)
