My comments on tutoring Accounting : I have a four year degree in accounting and have been working in the field for 20 plus years.

I work as an accountant and have been in the field for over twenty years. I began my career in accounts payable and took advantage of my employer's offer to pay for my college degree. It was worth going to school nights and working during the day as I was promoted to Accountant shortly before I graduated. I've since worked in various places and have had the opportunity to continue learning. The more knowledge you have the more valuable you are to employers.

My undergraduate degree from was a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Biology, so I have a lot of experience with writing papers and utilizing analysis skills in math and science. I have a very hands on approach to teaching. I would first explain how the problem is answered, then explain why it is answered in that fashion. I believe it is important to understand the why a problem is answered because then they can start to understand a little more about the keys to accounting. After having both tutored and taught in the classroom, I find tutoring to be more enjoyable. Since each student learns in a different way it is much easier to teach them one-on-one than a whole classroom full. I’ve always enjoyed watching their faces light up when they figure out a problem for the first time.
