I really enjoy teaching math. I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to help students of various learning styles to understand. I feel that patience and consistency are important virtues to exhibit when teaching. The learning environment is also important. It should be conducive to learning and not overly distracting. I enjoy seeing students learn concepts that they didn't know before and getting excited about their new understanding. I have much experience teaching math to students of various learning styles. As well as working with publishers I have assisted in the creation of educational museum exhibits and worked as Field Producer for TV documentaries including clients such as PBS and the Discovery Channel. My love is writing, reading and the expressive arts - an ability and background I hope to share. My style is definitely mentoring by example. Introducing young children to language requires a very different set of skills and expectations that teaching freshmen composition at the college level.
