When I began my college career at Penn State, I did not have teaching in mind. I originally started out as an Engineering student. It was at Penn State that my love for Mathematics strengthened. From the beginning we must let the students know what expectations we have so that they can prepare themselves for the upcoming tasks at hand. I also believe that you must have some flexibility in teaching in understanding that some topics may take longer to cover than initially expected. I have also found from my experience that when teaching or tutoring it is best to look at the student's past work and grades to see where there are problem areas.
