I recently graduated cum laude from the University of Rhode Island with two Bachelors of Science in Marine Geology and Maritime Law. I teach sailing and environmental education in the summers. This means very little however as I aspire, one day, to become a lighthouse keeper. Sadly, few can find such a position these days. I enjoy writing, science, mathematics, literature and most all music. When I taught sailing to young kids, I used to dress up like a pirate. I have lots of energy. I know I'm doing my job right when kids start laughing. When I taught to teenagers, I kept in mind my own experiences at that age. If I'm helping a student study hard on that big, important test that might have the ability to crush the student's soul - I bust out my acoustic guitar and sing about how It's The End of The World As We Know It (And This Test Means Very Little In The Long Run).

After earning my B.F.A. from V.C.U. (magna cum laude) with double minors in art history and Italian, I moved to New York and worked in the creative, behind-the-scenes world of theatre and television. After six years of production work my husband and I moved to Rhode Island, whereupon I fell in love with teaching. For the past two years I have attended Providence College, working towards a post-baccalaureate degree in English Language Arts and secondary education certification. During my studies at P.C. I have been in a school environment as my favorite pass time was to spend with children. Math is my favorite course. I helped students achieve good grip on calculations and solving problems. In Short- Teaching kids gives me peace and satisfaction in life. Math is fun. Teaching math is more fun. I love playing with numbers and helping children also play with numbers and solve problems in the most easiest manner. I really wonder why does the clock move fast when I am in a math class.
