I have taught in classes with adult professionals in the area of design and illustration. I have provided knowledge from the outside professional work froce in which I have givin direction obtained in real life situations in decission making and executing and reaching potential goals in the work arena. I have also shown the prblem solving skills in the classroom to be a proven track to the experience in the day to day assignments expected to achieve in a professional position.
I would prepare the student to advance his or her knowledge to be able to tackle the professional potential in the reality work force, or next level of learning. I obtained my BA in Social Work and have worked in that field since 1993. In 2005 I began a part time job as an Adult Education instructor for Sentinel Career Center where my primary focus was language arts/writing. I was part of the STAR reading program where I became certified to teach adults to read. In this program and as a GED instructor I have tutored many individuals of varying ages, education levels and backgrounds. In my work as a social worker, I work primarily with children with mental health issues/learning disabilities where the focus is on behavior, organizational,study and communication skills and parenting education.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is basic. I feel it is most important for a student to grasp the basics before they can move on to more complicated subject material. I also am a strong believer of parental involvement. A parent knows their children's learning patterns best. I like to use different approaches. Activities that are visually and mentally stimulting help to form a connection between the student and the lesson. It is important to me that each of my student's set and acheive goals.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent college graduate and I am looking for employment within my field. I have two years experience tutoring an elementary student. I worked with a student in second grade and tutored her in both Math and English.
