My teaching style is not typical since I am not a certified teacher. I am creative in my teaching style using a variety of techniques. I understand that each child and person learns differently (Auditory, Visual, Tactile) so I try to discover their style and incorporate as much as possible. I try to teach using real life experiences and examples. I break things down into simple parts before moving on to the next level. I also am a strong believer of parental involvement. A parent knows their children's learning patterns best. I like to use different approaches. I have always been a tutor of sorts. I love to teach kids because of the sparkle they get in their eyes when they finally understand what they are being taught. Each child have a different learning style so I try to work with them to see what works for them. I have worked with kids who have ADD and the gifted. The greatest thing I can teach is that we can teach to create intelligence, but wisdom comes from using all that you know.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a holder of a BS in Chemistry, I have a very strong grasp of science and mathematics, as well as a passion for the written word. I have volunteer experience tutoring my fellow students at Eastwood High School, out of which came two years' of summer tutoring for one of the individuals I helped while volunteering. My methods are amorphous and change to the needs of the student, but typically fall in the range of serious, yet enthusiastic and fun.
I feel the need for tutoring is the need to simply obtain information in a form that is different from the one presented in the classroom.
