A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a teacher for 7 years. I have taught in a small-town private, Christian two-room schoolhouse (K-8); I currently substitute teach for OPS, and have been to all but one school in the district. I have also tutored on and off over the years, both individually and in small groups, both privately and through school district or companies. I enjoy working with students in a smaller setting, especially one or two at a time, and helping them understand concepts and thus succeed in their schoolwork.
The process is just as important as the product. If a student can come up with the correct answer, but he or she has no idea how or why it is correct or how they got it, I feel like their learning is incomplete. I love teaching and working with children. I believe that all children are capable of learning. Each child is unique and, therefore, has a unique style of learning that must be tapped in to so that they reach their maximum potential. I believe that learning by doing is the best method of learning. "My" kids are always successful and eager to learn.
