My comments on tutoring Creative Arts : I minored in Theater. I'm also a stand-up comedian, writer, drummer, guitarist, and vocalist.

I always liked playing up my quirky personality. My favorite teachers and professors were the goofy ones, the ones who can relate to the students' fun side. These teachers also challenged me the most, and I ended up getting so much more out of the course. I figure that, if a student likes the teacher, he or she will pay more attention and have a deeper respect for the teacher. The teacher then can use this trust to push the student a little more, intellectually. I find that is what works best for me.
I don't any paid, professional tutoring experience. However, I have volunteered my services to family members and friends. During my sophomore year, I took Organic Chemistry and excelled. I can impart the love of design, what greater gift is there?

I'm an easy going teacher, software and design requires patience in both the student and teacher. It is a show and tell, where you will be explaining yourself repeatedly. I feel the best teachers, show the student what they expect, and have the student both verbally and by demonstration show they understand the processes. I was taught by professionals, the teachers I had were drill sergants installing skills through repetition. I work much the same way. The lessons I create are going to repeat form and function, proportion, typography and layout, pre production planning as well as the subject matter. You have to learn to walk before you get to the Olympics.
