I have been involved in various aspects of teaching and tutoring for the past 14 years. I have tutored students one-on-one for reading, writing, and math, and have taught private music lessons for voice (since 2005), violin (since 2005), and piano (since 2004). I have taught students 6 years and older, beginner through advanced level for almost 20 years. My musical training began at the age of 6 1/2 when I begged my Mother for piano lessons. I was intrigued, having watched my older sister and mother play. Even though my sister's piano teacher preferred students 7 years and older she made the exception to begin lessons earlier for me. I've enjoyed playing solo works as well as choral and have explored many genres. Lessons are tailored to each students learning style and musical preferences. I do think that homework I assigned is very important because I believe practice makes perfect.
