My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : Experience in teaching Kindergarten and First grades grammar.

Each child has different learning abilities. Hands on is the best type of teaching.
I got my B.S. degree in Elementary Education in 2004. I am very eager to help children learn. Children are like sponges, they soak up a wealth of information at such a young age. My experience consists of working as a long term sub for third and fourth grades in Fredericktown, Missouri. I have also substituted in the Pasadena ISD, Channelview ISD, and Sheldon ISD. I have taught all ages. From Kindergarten to High School students. My degree concentration is in history. But, I prefer to help with reading, phonics, vocabulary, spelling, and math.

The most important thing about my teaching style is that I believe every child can achieve academic excellence and can be interested in learning. I believe that it is up to me, as a teacher or a tutor, to engage the student(s). A huge part of this is being very transparent about where the student starts, what our goals are for where they are going, and how they are doing along the way. I love working with students to figure out what gets them excited and how they learn best so I can incorporate these strategies into my teaching. For the past 7 years I have been teaching in a private school setting. Although classroom sizes are small, I am required to teach multiple subjects. This year, I taught 3-7 grade Latin, 5th and 7th grade social studies, 5th grade grammar and writing, and 5th grade reading. In the past I have also taugh two half years of 10th grade English. This setting requires flexibility and quick adaptability. My training as a social worker has also facilitated teaching children with dyslexia and behavioral issues.
