My comments on tutoring Language Arts : I tutor students in the following: capitalization, periods, question marks, exclamation points, and commands. They learn the following types of nouns: common, proper, pronoun and subject, as well as predicate and verb. They learn the following types of verbs: present, past and irregular (to be, to have). We learn about sensory adjectives (stinky cheese, salty popcorn). Adverbs are essential, they tell where, when and how something happens. I use tutoring materials that are colorful and geared towards the specific grade level, for example Brain Quest and Spectrum. The students enjoy these immensely.

I am patient and kind. I have worked with various levels of learning. I am sensitive to the students needs.
I was contracted with the Clark County School District to tutor students in the No Child Left Behind Program in January-May 2012. I worked as a school based counselor/tutor for schools in Seattle Washinton. I have a Master's degree in Psychology.I am still tutoring K-5. I also tutor adults that want to learn English.

I have been working with students in a reading program at a Title I school for 2 years; working with second language students teaching them the English language. I have taught Math and Science for 4th and 5 grade using the Foss system. The Science program was a hands on experiments, writing and keeping a science notebook. Evaluations were given at the end of each lesson segment involving the Foss Systems. Taught 3rd grade all subject for 5 years teaching all subjects. I have been recognized for classroom management above expectations for the school. Students were taught with creativity and experience using hands on manipulatives and differenciated lessons. Been in the teacher preparation program at Nevada State College for about 3 years now, started off in Step-Up program my Junior year of high school, have done some field observation at many schools, and have had to deal with one on one tutoring during the time I was there along with many fellow class mates. In my classes at NSC we have different preparation classes that are preparing us for tasks such as tutoring and handling difficult tasks such as helping students that aren't of the English language to learn in their own way the different techniques that we use.
