As a business major I learned alot about the importance of language and communication. I took classes in english, and writing. I was a tutor for over 100 students for 2 years in finance and taght a class twice a week on Microsoft Excel. In high school I volunteered at an elementary school to help children with ADD and behavioral issues for 3 trimesters. I was a staff member at Cedar Badge, a week long leadership training course for scouts, teaching leadership skills.
I like to have visuals. They are important no matter what age. i use powerpoint, pictures, think of stories, and try to get the students involved as much as they can. People either learn, by seeng, doing, or both, so it is good to teach using all of the learning tools.

Probably my greatest gift that I've been given in this life is my love for people. I believe this love manifests itself through my teaching and makes me a unique educator. I am really good with kids. What I excel at is relating info. I can tell when someone is struggling, and usually know how to rectify the situation. I really enjoyed when I was able to tutor in elementary. The kids that I worked with had real problems in Math. With all of the kids that I taught they learned quick, just not the way teachers taught. I had to come up with different methods to relate the subject to them.
In Elementary I tutored for about a year. I also worked at a youth camp for kids with add adhd drug issues and anger problems. I have my A.S. in business and am very good with Math. I have also helped my little siblings with homework.

A Little Bit About Me...

Earning a BS in Economics from BYU was challenging and rewarding. To excel in such a competitive field of study required advanced skills in math, statistics, and logic. In addition, having studied the Russian language for 4 years (2 in high school and 2 in college), lived in Russia for 2 years, and tutored students of the language, I am uniquely qualified to tutor students interested in the Russian language. After 5 years of professional experience, I am now preparing to enter a Masters program for Physician Assistant studies in the Fall of 2010 by completing advanced courses in Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology.
