Latin is one of my top subjects! I have five years' experience in learning Latin. I took Latin all through High School and while at University.

I love sharing my knowledge with others, whether it's in a group or one-on-one. I make sure that my pupils can easily comprehend what is going on during the lesson. Questions are a good indicator that active comprehension is taking place, and I am there to make sure that any and all questions that are to be had will be answered. I'm not one to "spoon-feed" per se, but if specialized attention is needed on a specific topic or subject, I am there to help with any and all questions that may arise during the process.
During my high school and university careers, I have focused primarily on languages and language acquisition. As a graduate of the University of Virginia, I was very dedicated to learning as much as possible. I double majored in Government and Sociology, yet was able to take numerous courses in other areas as well. After earning my undergraduate degree, I decided to pursue graduate school immediately. I was offered Graduate Teaching Assistantships at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. This experience was wonderful because I not only could learn in my master's level courses, but also introduce undergraduate students into the field that I was passionate about.
Teaching and working with young individuals over the course of my education has been particularly memorable. I have taught and tutored a wide array of students from Ivy league bound seniors to 4 year olds with autism. I loved ancient history since middle school, but never in my dreams did I think I would learn Classical Greek and Latin. Luckily, I found that opportunity and learned both languages in three out of the four years of college. I decided during my fourth year that I wanted to become a teacher, but I needed experience, and I wanted to concentrate on Latin instead of Greek. I may not have taught a class yet, but graduate school is preparing me with education classes and more Latin translation, not to mention new experiences as a tutor for the Learning Assistance Center.
