Most recently I have been tutoring college students in algebra and helping dyslexic students write reports and comprehend written material. I have taught and tutored all phases of a massage program, including anatomy, physiology and pathology. Teaching ESL to all ages throughout my life including people from Mexico, Japan and Thailand is also something I've enjoyed doing. I've homeschooled high school students in a huge variety of coursework, and taught health, math, English and physical education in two private schools.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am always on the lookout for the twinkle in a student's eyes when he has finally understood an especially challenging skill or concept. This is what keeps me working with children, although I no longer teach full-time. I believe that the small successes help a student progress quicker and with more confidence and self-esteem. Positive reinforcement is key, as well a sense of comfort with what is being learned. I am easy-going, love to laugh with a student, and listen to him when he shares what is making the learning difficult. Together, we can work towards a balance and understanding of the "why's" and "how's" of learning.
