I believe if we can integrate content with cross-curricular themes and skills such as writing across the curriculum in all subjects, not just during the language arts block, All students can access prior knowledge and reframe their thinking when appropriate. My passion is the arts. I have explored a variety of areas including fibers, painting, drawing, 3-D, mixed media, collage, clay, graphic design, etc. Skills from all academic areas are used in the arts from math to history. An arts educaiton has been proven to increase learning in these areas and raise test scores. I was a K-8 art public education teacher for three years. For the past three years, I have worked with special needs children in a private school. Other areas of interest include psychology, English, and history.
