I have earned two bachelor degrees, one in Information Systems and Business Processes and the other in Communications and Media. I believe that education is very important and am now continuing my education, I plan to receive my Masters in Higher Education in May 2012. I have worked as a counselor at a young female enrichment program for the last two years, and enjoyed tutoring in Math, Science, Digital Arts and would love to tutor in other subjects if needed. What I have discovered about myself is that I learn differently from other people. I am the kind of person who prefers to set aside that assembly instruction manual and put together that Christmas toy by laying out the pieces in an orderly fashion. There is so much pleasure in problem solving. I learn by asking myself questions. I have little patience for mundane drills and memorization if they can be avoided. Each child is different. It is meaningless to say that a child is intelligent. There are many kinds of intelligences. Some children are more intelligent in memorization. Others are intelligent in solving problems. I believe that every day offers the opportunity to either learn or teach or both. There is no situation where there is not something to be gained, or shared. I believe every child is different. The opportunities offered to each child are the same, it is the acceptance and interpretation that is the challenge. I taught at Brevard High School for 4 years as a Computer Engineering and Networking instructor. I am currently working part time as the Computer Lab Instuctor/IT Tech Support contact at Immaculata Catholic School in Hendersonville, NC.
