I have been an educator for almost 20 years. I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher and immediately fell in love with teaching children with special needs. Desiring to continue to teach, I finished a Master's degree which gave me the endorsements to teach K-12 children with special needs. Since then, I have taught reading and mathematics to both children with special needs and regular education children at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. My comments on tutoring Speaking : I retired from corporate America over three years ago. In result, I am now a global deregulation of energy franchise owner for three years and have over five years experience in marketing, management, and customer service. I have conducted global training calls, Presentations for groups of ten or more, and travel all over the United States to assist others excel in public speaking. I also recruited numerous individuals for a major telecommunications company for over a year. As a global business owner, I have been able to meet very successful and wealthy individuals. I am a very friendly and patient individual. Since I specialize in tutoring elementary children to adults,I understand I am going to have different methods of teaching. For all my students, I try to find out what their weakness and strengths are. I attempt to have them notice it as well; that way we can work together as a team. For children, I always have some type of reward or goal for them to strive for. For example, I would remind the student that after they finish their assignments they would receive a sticker, lollipop (under parent permission), or medal.I have found children love recognition. During high school I interned in a first grade classroom for one year in which I planmed/taught lessons. I also have young siblings and family members which I help with assignments on a daily basis. In college, I tutored students taking various Psychology courses. I enjoy conducting research, reading scientific articles, analyzing and interpreting data.
I enjoy teaching individuals of all ages and cultures. I adopt a hands on approach to learning and have extreme patience for slower learners.
