I have been an educator for almost 20 years. I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher and immediately fell in love with teaching children with special needs. Desiring to continue to teach, I finished a Master's degree which gave me the endorsements to teach K-12 children with special needs. Since then, I have taught reading and mathematics to both children with special needs and regular education children at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. My comments on tutoring Speaking : I retired from corporate America over three years ago. In result, I am now a global deregulation of energy franchise owner for three years and have over five years experience in marketing, management, and customer service. I have conducted global training calls, Presentations for groups of ten or more, and travel all over the United States to assist others excel in public speaking. I also recruited numerous individuals for a major telecommunications company for over a year. As a global business owner, I have been able to meet very successful and wealthy individuals. They have educated me on how personal development or growth will in turn enhance your professional or work life. My background in business spans over seven years in total.

I am a very friendly and patient individual. Since I specialize in tutoring elementary children to adults,I understand I am going to have different methods of teaching. For all my students, I try to find out what their weakness and strengths are. I attempt to have them notice it as well; that way we can work together as a team. For children, I always have some type of reward or goal for them to strive for. For example, I would remind the student that after they finish their assignments they would receive a sticker, lollipop (under parent permission), or medal.I have found children love recognition. I am actually in the process with my students, their victories are my victories. I want my students to be proud of the work that they have done and the achievements that they have made. I give my students the information, I show them how to apply the information through modeling, I practice with them and then I release them to apply the technique themselves. Afterward I assign an project for an artifact that allows them through written words to translate their knowledge to another person. It is my goal to prepare them for life outside of the classroom, failure is not an option.
