My comments on tutoring Continuing Education : Instructor of English at college in the US and Germany

The basic approach is to get to know the student and teach the way the student can learn best. Therefore, the teaching style may vary depending on the personality and the request the student, respectively his or her parents have. Otherwise, I follow the Socratic method and guide the student by having him explore his own knowledge and experience and build on this individual foundation of knowledge and skills.
I spent two decades of my professional life teaching English in Germany, authorizing and co-authorizing textbooks for the English classroom. Whether it is in front of a class of 40 or one-on-one, I have been endowed not only with the talent to teach, but also with the God-given ability to motivate.
