Children love to learn and feel a sense of accomplishment and self-worth when they are successful. I greatly enjoy helping children learn. Each child has the capacity to learn and it is the teachers job to present the material in a manner which is conductive to the child’s understanding. Providing tools to help each student comprehend the material is essential. Many students are helped with additional reading strategies, or using a math manipulative to make an abstract concept understandable, or a graphic organizer to help understand new content material. Thirty-three years of teaching experience in not only the same school district, but the same school, has allowed me to finely hone my craft. My first 20 years were spent working with sixth-ninth graders in a middle school business classroom, enjoying the yearly curriculum changes in technology.
