As an undergraduate at CSU, Sacramento I volunteered my time to tutor a student from the time she was in 6th grade through 8th grade. Tutoring was done mostly in math. I have a BA in Environmental Studies with a minor in Biology. I also have extensive experience using computer software, such as Microsoft Office and ArcGIS. During my college experience I was a part of many student study groups which involved asking help from others as well as offering guidance in subjects we felt strong in. I would say that my style is one of direction. Helping students find answers, teaching them how to research for the answers and developing paths of choices to determine which one to take and determining the outcome of that choice or the alternatives. I feel better challenging them to use their thinking skills, their cognitive processing skills & decision making skills.
