I have worked in a higher education environment since 2000. I tuaught CPR and First Aid classes for 4 years for Child Care providers from 1996 to 2000. I am one class from completing my MBA in accounting. I will officially graduate in May of 2010. I developed a heart for young people at an early age, as my parents were missionaries to Native Americans. I truly believe that education has changed my life and promote higher education. I am able to relate to children of all ages and in the past two years especially related to high school and young college students who were looking for their way in life.

In college, I was a Math Tutor in all the requisite courses and calculus. I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Math and BS in Mechanical Engineering, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many various areas of study. I have taught adult students in mathematics, mechanical assembly, and job skills.

From past tutoring experiences, I have discovered that all people have the ability to learn, but each person learns in their own way. My tutoring method is a direct reflection of the way in which I was taught. Asking questions is strongly encouraged, and I work to help students answer their own questions rather than simply providing the solution. I am also a firm believer that visualizing a problem and/or breaking it down into smaller segments enhances the learning experience and promotes long-term knowledge retention. I am very patient and enjoy helping others, especially when it comes to tutoring, because I realize everyone has unique strengths and weaknesses. As a graduate student at Kansas State University I have learned the value of education. My education in Political Science working towards my BS has given a high degree of competence in math, history, and social sciences.
