I love teaching and working with children. I believe that all children are capable of learning. Each child is unique and, therefore, has a unique style of learning that must be tapped in to so that they reach their maximum potential. I believe that learning by doing is the best method of learning. "My" kids are always successful and eager to learn. I like to make teaching fun. I pride myself on my ability to add fun through puzzles, arts and crafts, etc. and teach all at the same time. It is so rewarding when a child you are working with accomplishes what they may have though to be the impossible. All children, as adults, are sponges that are wanting to absorb all that is around them. I feel that my previous experience in working with children is my resume.
I have been a Human Resources Manager for past 10 years. A good portion of my job is involved with training. While there are differences in training/teaching adults versus young adults and children, the basics are still the same. I have volunteered in the past as religious educator for children in first, second and fourth grade. I also did some volunteer tutoring over 8 years ago in Mississippi as I was involved with the local literacy council.

I am a retired Elementary teacher. I taught most of my 30 years working with Kindergartners, First and Second graders, but I have substitute taught grades K through 8th. Throughout my years of teaching I have acquired many techniques/skills that help students learn reading skills in a variety of ways.
