My comments on tutoring Genetics : Genetics was one of my favorite classes as an undergraduate biochemistry major and is an area I am considering attending graduate school to study.

I believe in adapting the teaching style to suit the student's learning style. Teaching English in China, I adopted a practical stance, teaching useful words and grammar and reinforced their reading lessons. The student's learning goals and reason for seeking tutoring should dictate the teaching style, however.
I spent the last year teaching English in China. I have experience teaching ESOL, and am experienced dealing learners of English of a second language. I loved the subject of biology at a very early age. However, it was my educators in high school and college that helped guide me towards a career in biology. At that moment, I felt both a strong desire to help others and the fear of letting others down. I accepted the tutoring position because my passion for learning and helping others won out. I have had several opportunities over the last few years to help my co-workers with their adult education and not only am I able to help, they always return to me when they need more help.
