My comments on tutoring Math : Elementary and middle school levels.

I taught elementary school in the 4-J School District. I later returned to graduate school at Portland State University for an MA to teach English as a Second Language and taught ESL to immigrants at Lane Community College. While living in Montana for a few years, I taught phonics, reading, and math with small groups of children in the Title One program in the Eureka Public Schools. Most recently I taught English to international students at the American English Institute at the University of Oregon.

I recently graduating from Northwest Christian College with a bachelors of teacher education. I have a license to teach PreK-5th grade and I have a TESOL degree which allows me to teach English as a second language to students in grades K-12. All children can succeed in school given the right tools; just because they do not get the idea from one method does not mean that they won't get it from a different method.
