My comments on tutoring Genetics : My beloved topic. I make Genetics fun and interested to learn, focused on actual clinical/ biological cases rather than memorizing genotypic and phenotypic proportions and Mendel's laws.

My comments on tutoring Genetics : I interned at U of M Flint in cancer research for a summer. I taught high school science at a private school for two years, and tutored many students in science for about five years now. My bachelors degree is in science and I have taken a variety of science courses.

I use a variety of teaching styles while instructing students. Alternating between styles helps to keep minds engaged and participation at a maximum. When covering content I use many examples that relate to real life, that way students can relate it to something they have experienced or seen. I also like performing small-scale experiments and labs. I will use power point presentations as well as the overhead for drawings, notes, and discussion. There are many websites that I make use of, the websites that I use are usually hands on and require students to think and solve problems on their own.
