As a Delta State University alum, it does my heart joy to be able to give back to my community. While at Delta State, I earned a bachelors degree in Exercise Science and minored in Nutrition. I went on to work as an Abstinence Coordinator for a non-profit organization, Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Incorporated. I taught children and teens various awareness topics. After a year of working with Y.O.U., I was offered a teaching position at the Quitman County Elementary School. I have been there for the past three years. I tutor and hold interventions for all elementary grade level students daily in my vacant time slots. I mainly tutor reading and math. As a graduate from the University of Phoenix I understand the importants of higher education. I have earned a bachelors degree in Pychology/Education, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math, science, and reading. As part of my training I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and power point with notes. During the past 10 years I have tutored students of all ages in English, reading, math, science, social studies, computer skills, and basic life skills. I love teaching and working with children, I believe all children can learn, but in different ways. I absolutely love working with children of all ages. I love to see the end results from working one on one w/ a child at the end of a session. I am very patient, and a firm believer that every child can learn! I've worked with children in many differnt areas of education and with children on many different levels. My focus was on children with disabilities and speech/language disorders. I've worked with children w/developmental delays and regular education children. I've also served as a tutor to children in my area w/learning disabilities. I have a BS in Speech Pathology w/a minor in Special education and I am currently working on my MS Ed in School Counseling.
