I graduated from California State University at San Francisco. While there I mastered my major of accounting as well as my minor in economics. I have over ten years' experience in all facets of accounting, audit and taxation. I have always been an exceptional mathematics student and my chosen field has enabled me to remain very strong in this area. I spent one year tutoring accounting students who had difficulty grasping the basic concepts of accounting. I was able to explain the accounting concepts in different wording than the text books and I also created a "cheat" sheet to help them understand how to handle different accounting transactions. I volunteered for the Special Olympics and for the D.A.R.E program from Elementary students back in 2003 and 2008. With the Special Olympics, I helped cook and serve food to the contestants in the olympics and I also was there to be a friendly and supportive coach-assistant to the athletes. With the D.A.R.E program, I went to Elementary schools in the town of Faribault MN, and I worked along side with the police department to show and educate kids the dangers of meeting strangers and how to handle that type of situation. I don't have a wide teaching experience but I do enjoy working and helping Elementary or junior high leveled children. Since I love working and teaching with all children, I have found many of my out-of-the classroom responsibilities to be just as rewarding as teaching in the classroom. I am a second year UW Madison student pursuing a math degree. I believe that all students are capable of learning but it just takes finding the right teaching method and approach that works for them. All students learn differently, so naturally we can’t teach the same way to every student. All students are able to reach their potential if they are given the right tools.
