My comments on tutoring Pre-Calculus : You need to know your basic if you are tutoring calculus

Have a PhD in organic chemistry. Have been teaching assistants in almost undergraduate level chemistry classes (general chemistry, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry) during graduate school. Have more than 13 years tutoring experience. Paid my undergraduate college education through tutoring and scholarships. My strongest subjects are chemistry and mathematics.
I would like to explain a global picture of a class material, what to expect from learning the class. All of this is not to scare students, but to mentally prepare them with the challenge ahead. I like to give my student quizzes after the tutoring, just to make sure they understand. This is a feedback process, so I could adjust my tutoring style accordingly.

I started doing private tutoring in math at Santa Monica College when I was a student in 2005. I had a lot of clients from different countries. I helped them with precalculus, triginometry, algebra, calculus, multiveriable calculus, linear algebra. I studied 2 years at SMC and transfered to CSULA. In 2006 I was a member of a physics club at CSULA which involed tutoring physics to students. I joined one organization. I tought algebra for two months to ten years old children. Making a Serious Subject Simple Fun is My Goal!

Majored in Mathematics and Minored in Physics. Receive a BS degree from Cal State Fullerton. I tutored math extensively while going to college. Worked in the aerospace industry as a computer programmer for 10 years. Later on raised a family and helped my Son and Daughter with their Math and Science. I was effective up through the sophomore year of college.
At first, I assess the student's strengths and weaknesses. Addressing the weaknesses I make sure the student knows the definition of terms and work and spend time working to get this in place. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to use a white board when I tutor, it makes it easier to solve many different problems without having to use paper. I also prefer that students bring questions and homework problems to tutor sessions that way I have a better understanding of what they need to learn.
Currently just graduated with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University Long Beach. I have tutored several different courses throughout my career. Including Thermodynamics, Numerical Methods for Engineers, Mechanics of Materials, Calculus, Differential Equations and more. I had a high GPA in college and was a very hard worker.
