I am currently a substitute teacher in the New Hanover County school system. I have 4+ years teaching in middle school and high school classes. I have prepared and taught classes during my previous career with the Federal Government to adults. My major in Biology gave me a strong background in the sciences and math. I am a recent graduate of UNCW with a BA in English and a teaching certification in Secondary Education. Currently interning in the Wilmington area, I have been working with 9th and 10th graders in English, developing basic writing and critical reading skills. Over the last four years, I have also tutored in Algebra I, Geometry, History and Science for grades 6-12.
I enjoy working with students, especially middle school and high school, and seeing them have a "lightbulb moment".
